Kutztown Man Leads Troopers on a High Speed Chase

Kathy Whyte/WNBF News [file][/caption]A Kutztown, Pennsylvania man is being held on $100,000 bail after State Police say he led them on a high-speed chase through two Bradford County townships before crashing at the New York State border.

25 year old Austin Chavous is charged with fleeing and eluding authorities, driving while under the influence and reckless endangerment in connection with the chase on State Route 220 in Ulster and Athens Townships at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, April 16.

Police say they tried to stop Chavous and had activated emergency lights and sirens when he took off.

Chavous is being held in the Bradford County Jail.
