The only coach to win a Calder Cup Championship in Binghamton is coming back! Kurt Kleinendorst, who coached the B-Sens to the franchise's only Calder Cup title, has agreed to a two-year contract with Ottawa to coach the organization's American Hockey League affiliate in Binghamton. Joining Kleinendorst as assistant coach is Steve Stirling, who was an assistant in the team's championship season.

In two previous seasons in Binghamton, Kleinendorst went 71-70-8-7 and had a playoff record of 16-7 in the championship campaign.

After winning the Calder Cup in Binghamton, Kleinendorst spent a year as coach of Alabama-Huntsville and then moved on to the Iowa Wild for parts of two seasons. He coached ERC Ingolstadt in Germany last season.

Kleinendorst was also head coach of the AHL's Lowell Devils for three seasons. Prior to coaching, Kleinendorst played professionally for six seasons including stints in the Central Hockey League, the International Hockey league, and the AHL.
