Broome County Sheriff’s officials accuse a Kirkwood man of driving with a blood alcohol content at about 2 1/2 times the legal limit when he crashed his vehicle in the Town of Windsor early Saturday, July 2.

30 year old Nathaniel Andrus told deputies he tried to back up the wrong way on the Exit 77 Ramp off Route 17 east when he hit a guide rail and the vehicle rolled onto its side in the middle of the ramp.

Andrus suffered minor injuries and was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, backing on a controlled access highway, driving an unregistered vehicle, moving from a lane unsafely and refusing to take a breathalyzer test.
