Broome County Sheriff’s officials say they’ve wrapped up an investigation into an attempted break-in at an occupied home on Perry Road in the Town of Barker last June with the arrest of a Binghamton man.

Authorities say they believed 29 year old James Bezek tried to get into the home June 4th through a window but cut himself on the broken glass.

Investigators reportedly linked DNA from blood found at the scene to Bezek.

Following the match from an analysis by the Forensic Investigation enter, Bezek was arrested March 17 and charged with felony attempted burglary.

He was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
