Former Binghamton Met Juan Lagares is expected to see duty tonight at NYSEG Stadium when the Binghamton Ruble Ponies host the Trenton Thunder in a key Eastern Division showdown.  Lagares saw action here in 2011 and 2012.  In 138 games as a Binghamton Met he batted .304.

Lagares has played in 506 Major League games with the New York Mets.  He is on a Major League rehab assignment as he recovers from a fractured left thumb suffered on June 15.  He moved up to the New York Mets in 2013 and went on to win a Gold Glove Award for his standout defensive play in the outfield.

Prior to his injury Lagares was batting .269 in 47 games with New York.  This is his third rehab assignment with Binghamton.  He also was assigned here after recovering from injuries in 2014 and 2016.  Game time is 6:35 tonight with air at 6:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
