Binghamton University's Jordan Reed was named the America East Rookie of the Week for the week that ended February 17th.  Reed shares the honor with Boston University guard Maurice Watson.

Reed wins the honor for the fifth time this season.  He continues to be one of the top freshmen in the nation.  During two games last week Reed averaged 21.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game.  He led a Bearcats' comeback against Maine on Saturday night with 26 points in the second  quarter and 29 overall plus 17 rebounds to record his 11th double-double which tops America East.

Former Bearcats' guard Dylan Talley, now a starter for the University of Nebraska, earned five Rookie of the Week honors in America East during the 2009-10 campaign.  Reed continues to be among the leaders in several categories nationwide.  He ranks 17th in double-doubles (11), fourth in rebounding among freshmen (9.2) and eighth in scoring (16.5).

Reed will lead the Bearcats into action Sunday as they travel to New Hampshire to meet the Wildcats at 1 PM (12:50 airtime on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
