There may never be swimming again at a decades-old pool in Johnson City.

Village officials say again this season, the Northside Pool is closed.

Mayor Greg Deemie says the facility is in such a deteriorated state, it’s unlikely the Village will be able to shoulder the costs of repairs.

The $300,000 repair cost, combined with a decline in the number of people using the facility played into the decision to keep the pool closed.

There is still a pool at Floral Park and a splash park near the carousel at C.F.J. Park.
