In a back and forth high-scoring contest October 16 at Wildcats Stadium Johnson City topped the Vestal Golden Bears 34-27.  The win gives the Wildcats a home game in the first round of the Section 4 playoffs coming up in two weeks.  That game will be a return bout with Vestal.

The Wildcats featured a bruising ground attack paced by Dominic Nadz and Shafeeq Hosea.  Nadz left the game with an injury in the second half.  Hosea took charge from there with his mammoth offensive line blasting holes for him.  He ended the night with 278 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns.

Quarterback T J Wegmann scored two touchdowns for the Golden Bears.  Johnson City and Vestal both have 4-3 records but the Wildcats are 2-1 in the division while the loss drops the Golden Bears to 1-2 in divisional play.
