Johnson City's understaffed fire stations will be getting more firefighters under a federal grant.

Over $1.2 million in Federal Emergency Management Agency Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (Safer) Grant program money will be helping to finace the addition of up to six firefighters for the village's two fire stations. 

The additions are expected to be made over the next two years.
