Johnson City to Get New Fire Equipment

The department is getting $170,000 in Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant funds to pay for buying new self-contained breathing apparatus air packs.

Recently, Johnson City got word that it was also getting federal funding that would allow for the hiring of five new, full-time firefighters.
