Johnson City Teen Arrested in Stabbing Incident

Johnson City Police have arrested a village teen in connection with a stabbing January 22.

According to Emergency Services records, a man was found wounded on Main Street at approximately 12:50 a.m.. but it was believed the incident happened on Wells Avenue. 

Village Police say 18 year old Corey Valdez was taken into custody without incident on Wells Avenue and charged with felony assault. 

Police say a man was stabbed in the abdomen and shoulder after he got into a dispute with Valdez.

The authorities say the two knew each other. 

The victim was taken to Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Valdez was sent to the Broome County Jail.
