Johnson City Police K9 Gets Protective Vest

Johnson City Police K9 Anouk is the latest police dog in the region to get a bullet and stab protection vest.

The nation-wide group Vested Interest in K9s Incorporated accepts donations to purchase the vests at a cost between $1,796-$2,234.

Anouk’s vest was made possible through proceeds from a 2016 craft fair fundraiser.

The vest is embroidered with the words “in memory of K9 CJ, Johnson City Police Department.  CJ died of cancer September 25, 2015.
