The investigation is continuing into a fire at a home on Albany Avenue in Johnson City that was reported at around 12:45 p.m. October 27th in which a man's body was found.

Village fire officials say it's possible the homeowner was unable to find his way out due to heavy smoke.  Firefighters found the man's body on the floor of the kitchen of the home.

Authorities have not released the name of the man but neighbors told The Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin that the owner of the home was Michael Chalachan, Jr.

Authorities said an autopsy was being conducted.

The fire was contained to the kitchen area of the home.
