Police say a Johnson City man was arrested after he allegedly would not allow his girlfriend to leave their residence.

Authorities say 25-year-old David West was accused of violating an order of protection which had been issued by a village judge. The order directed West not to harass the woman in any way.

Officials say police were called to investigate a reported physical dispute.

According to police, West was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony. He also was charged with unlawful imprisonment and harassment.

West was arraigned in Johnson City village court and sent to Broome County Jail.
