A Johnson City man is accused of driving with a blood alcohol level at more than double the legal limit, after a Town of Barker resident reported finding a pickup truck parked in his front yard with an unconscious man inside.

Broome County Sheriff’s Deputy, Matthew Bomysoad, says he arrived at the home on Route 11 just before 7 a.m. on December 6th and found the truck had driven off the road into the yard.

27-year-old, Steven Vicks, woke up and admitted to driving the vehicle.

The Deputy says Vicks had trouble keeping his balance, speaking and showed other signs of possible intoxication.

After being taken into custody, Vicks submitted to a breath test that registered a blood alcohol level at more than two and a half times the legal limit.

Vicks is charged with aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol level at .18% or more, driving while intoxicated, consuming alcohol while operating a motor vehicle and moving from a lane unsafely.

He’s been ordered to appear in Town of Barker Court at a later date.
