The Johnson City Police K9 Unit is getting a little help making their police dogs more safe and comfortable.  The Village Police came in 3rd in a nation-wide online contest from Aftermath Services to provide funding to K9 units.

While Aftermath had planned on making a single award, the race was so tight, they opted for giving money to the top five departments.

Johnson City gets a $500 grant.

Village Police say the money will support K9 Officers Cruz and Anouk with the purchase of training tools and a few basic needs.

Aftermath Services is a crime scene cleanup company and regularly supports K9 Officers and their partners.
