Officials are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a Lusk Street, Johnson City house and resulted in injuries to two firefighters.

The blaze was reported shortly before 4 a.m. May 27th and authorities say the home was heavily engulfed in flames when authorities arrived.

There were no residents home at the time, although neighbors indicated a dog may have died in the fire.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital for treatment of exhaustion while a second firefighter was treated on the scene for an injury to the hand.

The fire appeares to have started in the area of the front porch. A neighboring house sustained heat damage to its siding material.
