The star honoring the late cartoonist Johnny Hart has returned to its home in downtown Binghamton.

Hart's star vanished from the Binghamton Sidewalk of Stars on the Washington Street pedestrian mall several weeks ago.

The tip of the star sustained minor damage when the blade of a snow plow struck it.

The star was removed by city workers and examined. A Department of Public Works crew placed it back in its original spot on Wednesday.

A close inspection of the Hart star reveals a slight scrape mark where the plow blade apparently came into contact with it.

Hart's star is one of more than forty others honoring people of note from around the Binghamton area.

Hart, an Endicott native, created the popular comic strip B.C. and was co-creator of The Wizard of Id. He was 76 years old when he died in 2007.
