18-time Grammy Award winner Jimmy Sturr and his orchestra played to a large crowd Saturday at Tioga Downs Casino in Nichols.  Sturr played for an hour, took an hour break and packed in his fans again for the second part of the performance.

Sturr, who had not performed in a concert venue in the area since the Spiediefest ten years ago, played traditional favorites and some rock n' roll favorites like Bachman Turner Overdrive's Takin' Care of Business as well.

Sturr still takes the lead for most of the songs performed but also lets members of his orchestra shine in the spotlight as well.  One of those who electrifies the crowd is fiddle player Frank Urbanovitch.  With his rendition of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" he had the crowd clapping and cheering his incredible talent.

WNBF's Barb Mack introduced the Jimmy Sturr Orchestra onstage and did a live broadcast from the casino before the show.  You can hear many of Jimmy Sturr's hits every Sunday on the Barb Mack Show from 7:30 AM to 1 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
