The Binghamton Rumble Ponies defeated the Altoona Curve 8-5 today (Thursday) in a Baseball in Education Day at NYSEG Stadium.  Bolstered by a stadium full of elementary school students from all around the area the Rumble Ponies took two out of three in the series against the Curve and won their sixth consecutive rubber game in a series.

The Rumble Ponies banged out 13 hits against Curve pitching and upped their overall record to 20-14.  The Curve stands in first place in the Eastern League's Western Division and falls to 22-15 with today's defeat.

P.J. Conlon started and earned the win for the Rumble Ponies.  He is now 4-2.  Corey Taylor got the save.

Binghamton departs on a seven-game road trip.  The Rumble Ponies head to Bowie for a weekend series against the Baysox beginning Friday at 7:05 (air at 6:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  Donovan Hand is the scheduled starter for the Rumble Ponies in that opener.  They then head to Richmond for a series against the Flying Squirrels.
