Ithaca Shooting Suspect Has Binghamton Ties

Bob Joseph/WNBF News

A suspect wanted for a shooting incident in Tompkins County is said to have ties to the Binghamton area and is still being sought by authorities.

Clifton McBean of Ithaca is wanted for a shooting at around 7:40 p.m. April 28 at South Plain Street and Cleveland Avenue on the South Side of Ithaca.

Police communications yesterday said McBean is considered armed and dangerous and was said to have connections to Broome County.

The victim was shot twice in the torso and taken to a hospital by another person. The victim’s condition has not been released.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ithaca Police at (607) 272-3245 or New York State Police.

Authorities say the shooter and the victim knew each other and the shooting was not random.

They have not released a suspected motive for the attack.
