Police and fire investigators are looking into an apparent arson blaze at an Endicott home.

The fire at 410 East Main Street was reported around 2 a.m. Wednesday. Four members of a family - a father and mother, along with their son and daughter - reportedly escaped the burning home from the second floor.

The fire was extinguished in less than 15 minutes. No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross was providing the family with temporary housing and clothing.

Endicott detectives were being assisted by state police investigators as they worked to pinpoint how the fire was started. It apparently began in the basement of the home.

The heaviest damage was confined to the cellar and the first floor of the structure.

Broome County property records show the house is owned by Jason Stokes, who is an Endicott firefighter. He made an unsuccessful bid for a seat on the Union-Endicott Board of Education in May. He also launched a campaign for the New York State Assembly in 2010.
