New York State Police say inexperience contributed to a crash in Cortland County May 22nd  that left two Cortland girls dead and a boy, also from Cortland, seriously hurt.

17 year old Andrea Czimmer lost control of the vehicle she was driving south on Interstate 81 near Preble shortly after 7:30 p.m.  The vehicle left the highway and rolled several times.

Czimmer and a passenger, 17 year old Alexis Porter died in the crash while another passenger, 18 year old Michael Conlon was treated for internal injuries and is now recovering at home.

Police say no alcohol was involved but the investigation is continuing.
