Inmate Charged In Brutal Broome Jail Attack
A Binghamton man has been charged with felony assault in connection with a vicious attack on another Broome County Jail inmate.
Authorities say 27-year-old Robert Gallagher of Charlotte Street was arrested in connection with an incident Sunday at the town of Dickinson facility.
Jail officials say Gallagher is being held on a parole violation.
They say the other inmate sustained head and facial injuries. He had a broken orbital bone and a cut to the back of his head which was closed with staples.
Gallagher is to be arraigned in Dickinson town court.
