Police say a man who fled after a motorcycle crash in Vestal was located following an extensive search near the Susquehanna River.

Three law enforcement agencies worked to find the man after the incident around noon on Monday.

A Vestal police officer attempted to assist the motorcyclist after discovering the crash off Vestal Road near Route 17.

Police established a perimeter after the man ran into a wooded area.

New York State Police and the Broome County Sheriff's Office assisted Vestal police in searching for the motorcyclist. They initially focused on an area just east of Route 26 and south of Vestal Road.

A drone was used in the effort to find the man in an hour-long search. He ultimately was located in Harold Moore Park, several blocks east of where police had been looking.

The man had sustained a shoulder injury in the crash. It was not known what charges might be filed.
