Corey Green is preparing to become the next superintendent of the Owego Apalachin Central School District.

During a wide-ranging interview on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program on Monday, Green discussed growing up in Broome County and what prompted him to pursue a career in education. He also talked about his years as a high school basketball standout when he played for Whitney Point.

Green currently is assistant superintendent in the Sidney Central School District. He is scheduled to complete his work in that post on June 30 and become the Owego Apalachin superintendent the following day.

Green will succeed William Russell, who is retiring as the Owego Apalachin superintendent after overseeing the district for the past decade.
