Officials in Delaware County and in the Poconos area of Pennsylvania say they are being cautious as they investigate the discovery of a stolen car in Bovina, New York that had been taken from an area in the Poconos October 18.

Authorities say it is not known if there is a link between the stolen Porsche Cayman and the search for Eric Frein, who is charged in the slaying of a Pennsylvania State Trooper and wounding another in an ambush at the state police barracks in Pike County, south of Delaware County in New York and Wayne County in Pennsylvania.

The 2012 Porsche was found on Lee Hollow Road and, while authorities investigated whether the vehicle was connected to Frein, they issued an advisory at a round 3 a.m. October 23 assuring residents that they did not believe there was any risk of harm to them.

The car has a Pennsylvania registration DSN-8875.

Anyone with information is asked to call Delaware County Undersheriff at (607) 746-2336.
