Broome County officials say a $750,000 project at the Greater Binghamton Airport will improve the appearance of the town of Maine facility and upgrade the airport website.

County Executive Debra Preston says the renovations will help the airport better meet the needs of those who use it.

The airport flight information system will be improved in the terminal building and online.

Aviation commissioner Carl Beardsley described the current system as old and "sometimes unreliable." He said the new system will provide information that will be automatically updated.

Other planned work includes carpet replacement in the terminal and repainting of the building. Airport restrooms also will be modernized.

The renovations should be completed in about three months.
