Fire investigators now say ashes from a pellet stove are to blame for a blaze in a Castle Creek garage that destroyed some vehicles and equipment and heavily damaged the building.

The fire on Hyde Street was reported at around 10 p.m. December 6.  There were no injuries and the owner was able to rescue some items from the structure.

Firefighters from four responding departments were hampered battling the 2-alarm blaze due to a lack of available water nearby.

Officials say the ashes had been improperly disposed of earlier in the day.
