In spite of an announcement a few days ago by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo that IBM jobs were being protected and even added in Western New York and the Hudson Valley, International Business Machines is laying off in Endicott.

Between 10 and 15 jobs were cut in Broome County February 27 according to Alliance at IBM, CWA Local 1701.

IBM had no comment on the job cuts.

Alliance national coordinator Lee Conrad says the company had about 720 workers in Endicott as of the beginning of the week.
