Iberdrola Affilliate is Reigned in by New York Regulators

The parent company of New York State Electric and Gas is clear to reorganize following a critical audit of NYSEG and Rochester Gas and Electric by New York State last year.

The New York State Public Service Commission has approved the corporate reorganization plan proposed by Iberdrola which reigns in the use of the unregulated engineering and construction entities of the Spanish company to do work for NYSEG and RG&E.

The PSC is capping the affiliate work for NYSEG and RG&E at about its current level and requiring a staffing study to compare the costs of using the affiliate vs. local employees.
