NYSEG officials say more than 70 Rocheter Electric and gas and NYSEG gas fitters, gas supervisors, field service representatives and garage mechanics have been tasked with supporting National Grid and Con Edison in the restoration of natural gas services on Long Island.

Crews were sent from Binghamton, Cortland, Ithaca, Norwich, Oneonta, Elmira, Auburn, Geneva, Lockport, Olean, Hornell and Liberty.

In addition to personnel, NYSEG has provided large numbers of utlity poles and natural gas regulators to Con Ed to support power and natural gas service restoration in New York City.
