Hunters Asked to Donate Deer For the Hungry

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier is participating in the venison donation program to encourage hunters to donate deer to help the hungry in the area.

Officials say one deer provides about 160 servings of ground venison to feed residents who are in need.

Hunters need to call ahead for the free processing of donated deer.

Participants can call (607) 796-6061 for information. A list of participating processors is also available at the Food Bank's website at www.foodbankst.org.
