Hundreds Expected To Participate In Broome Triathlon

Registrations are being accepted for the Broome County Parks Triathlon that's to be held this month at Dorchester Park in Whitney Point.

The race is open to individuals and three-person teams. It consists of a half-mile swim, an eleven-and-a-half mile bike race and a 5K run.

This will be the ninth year the triathlon has been held. It's scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. on June 28. A youth triathlon for children between seven and thirteen will start at 12:15 p.m.

Race director Grace Tabeek says the registration deadline is June 14. She says there will be no race-day registration for the triathlon.
