Motorists looking to access Hooper Road businesses in Endwell next year may have to either delay their plans for a couple of weeks or plan out some creative detours.

Engineers working on the replacement of the 40 year old Hooper Road bridge over Route 17C (East Main Street) say the preferred option for the construction is to close the bridge off entirely for two to three weeks instead of going for a partial closure that would extend the work time by several months.

Officials from the Town of Union, New York State Department of Transportation and the engineers presented four options for the project and answered questions from emergency responders, residents and businesses at a public information meeting April 11th.

It's anticipated construction would start next spring or summer.
