Homicide in Bainbridge

New York State Police say they are investigating a shooting incident outside of a Town of Bainbridge fitness club that claimed the life of one man and left another injured.

Troopers responded to the parking lot of Peak Fitness on Route 7 at 1:27 p.m. October 27 with a report of a shooting.

Officials say 26 year old Derek D. Prindle of Afton was taken to Tri Cities Hospital in Sidney where he later died.

60 year old Derek S. Prindle of Afton was also taken to Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center in Johnson City where he is being treated for a gunshot wound.

56 year old John Guzy of Bainbridge has been arrested and charged with murder.  He is being held in the Chenango County Jail.

The investigation is continuing.
