Homeless Veterans Residence Gets Ahern Foundation Grant

The development of a residence for homeless veterans is getting a financial boost from a local foundation.

The Ahearn Foundation has awarded the City of Binghamton a $35,000 grant for help in completing the construction of a $400,000 veterans housing complex on Pine Street near the new Veterans Administration clinic, which is also under construction.

The 10-unit housing complex will also offer counseling services to veterans and is expected to open in mid-spring.
