A homeless man is being charged with grand larceny, obstructing governmental administration, drunk driving and driving without a license in Chenango County.

Sheriff’s officials say 24 year old Adam Holt was arrested October 20 after Holt called 911 to have a vehicle he had been driving towed out of a ditch.

Officials say they determined Holt stole the car from the Town of Columbus before crashing into the ditch in New Berlin.

Deputies say, when they determined Holt was intoxicated and attempted to take him into custody, the man fought with the officers.

Holt is charged with four counts of harassment for reportedly spitting on, threatening, attempting to bite and attempting to kick a deputy in the face.

He was sent to the Chenango County Jail on $5,000 bail.
