Pennsylvania State Police are cautioning people who hire home health care assistants to examine the background of the person who will be entering their home.  The caution follows the arrest of a Millerton woman.

Authorities say 34 year old Jessica Thomas is accused of stealing hundreds of dollars from the home of an elderly Gillett couple while doing home health care work in January.

Troopers say the 70 year old woman her 75 year old husband found $653 in paper currency and coins had been taken from their home.

Thomas is charged with theft by unlawful taking.
