With a sunny and dry day December 7 following a rainy and blustery December 6,  holiday shoppers were out in force.  Many stores and shopping areas reported brisk business.  With only two more weekends before Christmas shoppers were out looking for bargains.

Several area businesses we visited had plenty of customers.  At Our Country Hearts off Route 26 in Union Center there was a steady line waiting to enjoy breakfast and lunch.  Their gift shop was also busy with shoppers looking for decorations and special items for their home or to give to someone.

Country Wagon Produce, also on Route 26 just outside of Maine, was jammed with visitors as they held their two-day Christmas Open House.  People were ordering cookies and other baked goods for holiday celebrations.  Along with bakery items shoppers were purchasing wreaths, holiday gifts as well as jams and jellies.  Most popular was their free sample cookie display with non-stop traffic getting a taste of their holiday treats.
