Johnson City Police say a Village man is charged with three felony counts as well as leaving the scene of an accident following a crash November 23.

Police say at 4:10 p.m. they were called to a report of someone in a pickup truck rear-ending a motorist on Riverside Drive then leaving the scene.

The victim got the license plate number and police found 56 year old David Shamberger at his home.

Officers say Shamberger admitted hitting another vehicle and police say they determined he appeared intoxicated.

Shamberger is charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18% or higher, leaving the scene of an accident, driving an uninspected vehicle and consumption of alcohol in a vehicle.

Police say Shamberger had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years.

He’s been ordered to appear in court next month.
