This weekend marks the start of the Section 4 High School Football Playoffs.  Friday night the Binghamton Patriots begin their quest for a New York State AA Championship as they host Ithaca's Little Red at Alumni Stadium ( 7 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  At the same time in the Western part of Section 4 Elmira travels to Corning to face the Hawks.

Union-Endicott gets a bye week by virtue of its regular season title in Class A.  The Tigers will be watching as Horseheads travels to Dick Hoover Stadium to meet the Vestal Golden Bears.  The winner meets U-E next Friday for the A crown.

Fresh off their victory over U-E the Maine-Endwell Spartans host Norwich at Spartan Stadium at 230 Saturday (News Radio 1290 WNBF).  The Spartans are riding a 20-game winning streak and are top-ranked in Class B in New York.  Expected out with an ankle injury is M-E standout Luis Uceta who was injured in the first quarter of last weekend's battle with U-E.

In the other Class B tussle, the rejuvenated Johnson City Wildcats travel to Chenango Valley to face the Warriors in a 130 start.

In Class C semi-final action undefeated Chenango Forks meets Lansing at 2 PM and Sidney tackles Waverly at 5 at Binghamton's Alumni Stadium.

D semi-final action will be played at Union-Endicott Saturday.  In a scheduled 130 kickoff Unatego Valley meets Tioga at 1 PM and Harpursville faces Groton at 4 PM.
