High School Football Season begins in our area this weekend.  Teams have been in training camp for a couple of weeks and are looking forward to putting the scrimmages behind them and play some "for real" games.

The Maine-Endwell Spartans look for another successful season.  To say the Spartans have dominated their opponents over the past two seasons is a major understatement.  M-E captured the State Class A title two seasons ago and then moved to Class B last year and won that State Championship.  M-E is 25-0 over those past two seasons.

Kyle Gallagher will lead the offense.  This will be his third year as the team's starting quarterback. He'll look to connect with wide receiver Alec Wisniewski to provide a big part of the Spartan offensive attack.  The Spartans open play this weekend in the Carrier Dome as they face Section 3 foe Nottingham.

Other opening week action involving Section 4 teams includes the Johnson City Wildcats visiting Binghamton. Also, Union-Endicott meets CBA in the Carrier Dome and Vestal plays host to Norwich.

News Radio 1290 WNBF will carry one dozen high school games over the course of the regular season beginning with the Binghamton Patriots at Maine-Endwell on Saturday, Septemvber 14th.
