News Radio 1290 WNBF will broadcast two big high school football games this Saturday.  Our first contest will feature a Homecoming battle as the Maine-Endwell Spartans host the Owego Indians at Spartan Stadium at 1:30.  A Homecoming Parade on Hooper Road beginning at 10 AM gets the day rolling for M-E. Our nightcap game has the Vestal Golden Bears hosting Binghamton at 7 PM at Dick Hoover Stadium.

The three-time defending state champion Spartans are 3-0 this season and are riding a 41-game winning streak.  They have outscored opponents 103 -29 so far this season.  They have racked up this much scoring despite losing their first two quarterbacks to injury.  Drew Gallagher took over the reins last weekend on the way to a 42-7 victory at Norwich.

The Indians are 2-1 and have been outscored 72-59 in their first three games.  Junior quarterback Logan Neira has excellent size at 6'3" and 195 pounds.  When he puts the ball in the air his favorite target is wide receiver Will Gladney who also has good size at 6'2" and 205 pounds.  When the Indians go to the ground attack running back Stavion Canavan gets the bulk of the duty.

Airtime is 1:25 PM Saturday on News Radio 1290 WNBF with Roger Neel and Tim Smith.
