Heroin Seized After Owego Traffic Stop
An Owego man was being held in Tioga County Jail after sheriff's deputies found heroin following a traffic stop.
Authorities say 37-year-old Kenon Hopewell of Liberty Street was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
Investigators say Hopewell was driving a vehicle that was pulled over for a traffic violation. They say the stop occurred on Southside Drive near the Route 17 exit.
Hopewell was arraigned in Owego village court. He was sent to the county jail on $50,000 bail.
Hopewell was ordered to reappear in court on Tuesday.
