Heroin and Funny Money in Delaware County
A Delaware County man is accused of planning to sell heroin and printing out counterfeit money.
Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies, K-9 Ozzie and Village of Sidney Police executed a search warrant on a vehicle on Delaware Avenue in the Village Thursday afternoon and say they found 38 year old Richard Swislosky in possession of heroin, counterfeit 20 dollar bills and a color copier/printer believed to have been used to print out the funny money.
The arrest followed a month-long investigation into heroin trafficking in and around the Village of Sidney and City of Oneonta.
Swislosky is charged with one felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance and nine felony counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in connection with the 9 counterfeit 20 dollar bills found in the car.
Authorities seized the heroin, printer, money and the vehicle Swislosky was driving.
Police say they also found him in possession of a New York State Public Assistance Benefit Card.
He had just been released from the Delaware County Jail in May after serving a year for a conviction on felony criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Swislosky has been sent back to the Delaware County Jail without bail.
