The 29th Annual Southern Tier Heart Walk is set for this Sunday, April 8th on campus at SUNY Broome.  Organized by the Southern Tier Chapter of the American Heart Association the walk raises money to help in the fight against heart disease and stroke.  Proceeds raised from sponsors and pledges help fund research and advocacy in the battle against heart disease.

The Heart Walk has raised over 4 million dollars and organizers have set a goal of $280,000 this year.  Over $250,000 was raised last year.

Day of the event registration begins in the SUNY Broome Ice Center at 10:00 AM.  There will numerous health and wellness displays and information available prior to the walk.

Opening ceremonies begin at 11:30 AM just outside the Ice Center.  The walk is held entirely on the SUNY Broome campus and is 1.5 miles in length.
