The 27th annual Southern Tier Heart Walk is set for Sunday on campus at SUNY Broome.  Registration begins at 9 AM inside the Ice Center.  Various exhibits, displays and health screenings will be set-up inside the Ice Center.  Opening ceremonies and the start of the walk will be held just outside the entrance to the Ice Center.

This is the second year the walk is being held on campus at SUNY Broome.  Walkers of all ages are invited to take part.  There is no minimum distance required.  One lap around the established course is just over one mile.

Following the walk participants are invited back inside the Ice Center for refreshments including sandwiches from area Subways.  Individuals, groups and teams can register prior to the event by going online to: Southertierheartwalk.org.  A goal of $250,000 in funds has been set.  Money raised goes to research and advocacy projects to help in the fight against heart disease and stroke.
