A health information organization has relocated its Binghamton operation to a larger downtown facility.

HealthlinkNY moved from the former Lackawanna Train Station on Lewis Street to the MetroCenter complex on Court Street. The space in recent months had been used by Ellis Brothers Contemporary Furniture.

HealthlinkNY president Christina Galanis said the organization is the product of the recent merger of entities in the Southern Tier and the Hudson Valley.

Galanis said total employment has grown as the use of electronic health records has expanded. The combined entity has about 34 full-time positions.

HealthlinkNY began operations at the new Binghamton site on Monday. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
