The Hartford Hawks rolled by the Binghamton Bearcats in men's basketball last night at the Events Center 76 - 62.  The Bearcats were down 38-36 at the end of the first half but Hartford outscored BU 38-26 in the second half to secure the win.

The Hawks move to 6-4 in America East competition while the Bearcats drop to 1-9.  With the win the Hawks sweep the season series as they also topped Binghamton in Hartford earlier this season in a three-point decision.

Forward mark Nwakamma led all scorers with 22 points while John Peterson notched 16 points and Wes Cole canned four three-point shots for 12 points.  Binghamton's Jordan Reed led his team in sdcoring with 17 points while Taylor Johnston hit four three-pointers to finish with 15 points and forward Brian Freeman capped another strong game with 12 points.

The Hawks won the rebounding battle by a 43-31 margin and shot almost 47% from the floor while BU shot 52 % in the first half and just 36% in the second half.

The BU women also lost to Hartford in Hartford 65-50.  Vaneeshia Paulk led the Bearcats offense with 11 points.  Next up for the Bearcats the women host Boston University at 230 PM this

Saturday while the men entertain the Terriers at 7 PM that night.  It's Winter Madness on campus that day with an indoor tailgate party at the West Gym between games.
